The Threatened Loris

The loris is the planets only poisonous primate, with a bite dangerous enough to kill someone. Until recently they were a fairly unknown creature, until a video on YouTube captured the attention of thousands of exotic pet lovers. 

As a result, lorises are at the mercy of hunters who trap them and rip out their venomous teeth using wire cutters. These creatures are then sold on animal markets, trapped in boxes or cages, paraded openly on the streets, despite the trade of them being very illegal. 

Unfortunately the price for a Loris has risen considerably and people are making good money for the capture and sale of them.

They are one of the 25 most endangered primates in the world and it  doesn't appear to be getting any better with the illegal trade of these unique creatures.
